For our client, a renowned independent music publishing company, we are looking for a Licensing Specialist. As a Licensing Specialist, you will play a critical role in overseeing the licensing of our extensive catalog of music. You will be responsible for negotiating and securing licensing agreements with various media outlets, advertising agencies, film and television producers, and other entities. Your expertise will ensure that our artists receive the best possible exposure and compensation for their work. Key responsibilities include:

  • Negotiating and drafting licensing agreements
  • Managing relationships with existing clients and seeking new licensing opportunities
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant licensing regulations and contractual obligations
  • Monitoring the usage of licensed music to prevent unauthorized use
  • Collaborating with the legal team to address any licensing disputes
  • Providing support and guidance to the sales and marketing teams regarding licensing matters

About you:
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in music licensing and a deep understanding of the music industry. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, has excellent negotiation skills, and can work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Law, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in music licensing or a related area
  • Comprehensive knowledge of copyright law and music licensing processes
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in licensing software and databases is a plus
  • Speaking and writing flawless English is required for this role
